In 2017, the Tour de Sas ski-tour race took place on the famous Gran Risa slope
Alta Badia doesn't only stand for alpine skiing, but can also be discovered on touring skis. Until 2015, the course of the 20 km long Tour de Sas race took round the majestic Mt. Sasso di Santa Croce (2,907 m a.s.l.) in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, the athletes had to overcome 2,000 m of altitude difference. Start and finish were located in San Leonardo/Badia.
After the race was cancelled in 2016 due to lack of snow, it returned in 2017 as a 15.5 km long night ski-tour race on the famous Gran Risa, a downhill run in the Alta Badia Skiing Area.
