The “Tru di artisc” (in Ladin language) leads from La Villa to San Cassiano - a real open air art gallery
Image gallery: Path of the Artists
The 5 km long walk on the tracks of local artists starts in the village of La Villa, more precisely in the hamlet of Altin. The theme trail was opened in 2011 and has been extended every year since then with a sculpture by an artist from the Dolomites.
The nice trail is traffic free and snakes its way at approx. 1,400 m a.s.l. along the Rio Gadera brook up to its highest point at 1,624 m a.s.l. After a 1.5-hour walk the Path of the Artists leads to the village centre of San Cassiano. The rather flat path is also suitable for prams which makes it - together with its length and the beauty of the surrounding landscape - a popular destination.
If you'd like to extend the hike, you can continue from San Cassiano on the trail no. 11 to the hamlet of Armentarola.
