It is obligatory to carry an EU pet passport along where the anti-rabies inoculation of your dog must appear. Furthermore your companion needs a microchip or a well-readable tattoo so that it can be clearly identified.
In Italy there is the mandatory use of dog leashes and you always have to carry a muzzle along, to use e.g. on public transport. On buses, seeing-eye dogs and small dogs are transported for free, for all other dogs a ticket must be bought. On cable cars and chair lifts in the Alta Badia, dogs are transported for free.
Please remember that the disposal of dog excrements is obligatory. Along the walking paths in the valley and in summer also on the Piz La Ila, Piz Sorega and the Pralongià High Plateau, dog toilets have been placed.
Please check also the local regulations of the respective destination: The single municipalities have the right to determine their own rules.
